Testimonials
For the Employer:
For the Learner:
“I heard about the open day through my supervisor and thought it would be interesting as I didn’t have any qualifications. My Learning Advisor was very supportive and treated me more like a friend than a tutor. I also got lots of support from colleagues and the hospital. My Numeracy Learning Advisor was again very supportive. I have never enjoyed Maths but she has helped me break these barriers. Achieving my NVQ shows that my job role is just as important as any other in the hospital. I am also looking at signing-up to another qualification next year.”
Angie Williams Princess Alexandra Hospital Domestic Ward Orderly
“I was not aware of the open day until the actual day and I was in two minds about seeing what was on offer. I have worked here for 10 years and it was good to see things like this on offer in our department. My biggest concern was that I am Dyslexic and was not at all confident about doing this. However my Learning Advisor assisted me in so many ways in order to overcome these fears. We had a good relationship especially when I didn’t understand something. Some of the main things I picked up on during the NVQ are Health & Safety practices, including infection control and COSHH. It was a real eye-opener as it gave me a better understanding of why procedures are in place. Achieving my NVQ has given me the confidence to apply for a vacancy in the hospital. This is something I would never have done in the past. I would recommend Qube and their training to colleagues. We were not aware that there were qualifications for what we do and none of us have ever done an NVQ before. The support from the Learning Advisors is what really motivated me”
