Zoey Sage - Regus (Chertsey)

Zoey achieved her qualification efficiently and to a high standard. When Zoey was first based in Chertsey, she was sent to other Regus sites on a secondment to gain more knowledge and experience. This proved to be invaluable, as it opend up endless opportunities to gain evidence for her qualification. Consequently, since achieving her qualification Zoey has been promoted to Customer Services Representative in Chertsey. Zoey has now adopted a mentoring role for other NVQ candidates within Regus and has just started her Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer service (level 3).

"The main benefit of doing this qualification is to study in detail Customer Service and to understand how we provide our customers with good service. Completing the NVQ confirms that I have studied customer service and have achieved a nationally recognised qualification. I have really enjoyed studying my NVQ. It has been a great support to my learning and has helped me develop my career at Regus. I’ve had brilliant support from my assessor and my Customer Service manager throughout the last year and I’m looking forward to getting started on level 3! The NVQ has helped me in my job role at Regus because it has been a useful tool to support the personal development plan that I have been working from over the past 18 months."

Zoey has become more customer focused. She has been assisting me for 4 months in the day-to-day running of the centre and managing a team of 10 CSRs and is taking on new responsibilities as she goes forward.

Andrew Calton - Howdens Joinery (Rotherham)

Andrew works full time at Howdens Joinery and has been employed there for over a year. On starting his qualification, Andrew worked mainly on the reception desk answering telephone calls, dealing with traders, giving information on products and making sure accounts are up-to-date and paid for. Since completing his qualification, Andrew has been promoted within the company to the kitchen design team. He is currently being trained on how to design kitchens and to map these designs onto a computer.

"My main aim was to gain a recognised qualification for the work I do.
The learning advisor came to see me regularly at work, improved my motivation, improved my customer service and made me feel more a part of the team. As a result of achieving my qualification, I am working towards becoming a kitchen designer; I have also benefitted from better working relationships with customer and colleagues, and the managers at
Howdens now understand that I am committed to the business and want to progress within the company."

Andrew has benfitted from increased self-confidence, improved telephone manner and he pays more attention to detail since achieving his qualification.
As a direct result of Andrew’s improvements, our trade counter has had greater success with customers and has had a knock-on effect with other staff - which encourages custom and makes for better business practice.
