Skills Development Programme
For the past few months Qube have been developing a programme that aims to work more closely with job-seekers through their local Job Centre Plus.
The Skills Development Programme aims to give individuals the skills and knowledge required to make them stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs. The topics (units) that are
covered will help them develop their personal and professional approach to seeking and finding work, as well as sector specific units.
This means that the programmes offered fall in to two categories, Employability and Sector Based Work Academies.
- Employability is aimed at getting people work ready and the team are currently engaged with Charities and Community Support Organisations like Shaw Trust, Salvation Army and Vital Regeneration, a work programme contractor in London.
- Sector Based Work Academies are more sector specific and require the involvement of employers offering jobs at the end. Our SBWA programmes currently cover Hospitality, Retail and Customer Services.
Qube have Employability Skills Advisors; Brendan Nevison and Deborah Adams, who are responsible for introducing our offer to both JCP, employers and other support organisations.
We hope that this initiative will contribute to skills shortages and strengthen our links with JobCentre Plus in helping them to achieve positive outcomes for job seekers across England.
