Paul Burrows
It’s with great sadness that I find myself informing you that Paul Burrows recently passed away. It has come has a shock to all of us at Qube that knew Paul, so I would like to take a little time to reflect on some of our fondest memories of the time Paul spent with us.
Paul worked at Qube from September 2007 to July 2009 in the capacity of Regional Business Development Specialist in the London region. Paul joined Qube just 18 months into our new ownership and management structure and as a result played his part in the shaping the business. This was Paul’s first sales role and he really rose to the challenge of sales and business development in work based learning. Paul had a special talent for relationship building that spanned all ages and walks of life; he had a very engaging style. Paul demonstrated high levels of commitment, loyalty and energy; there was never a dull moment. Paul’s colleagues remember him as being dynamic, fun loving, competitive, outgoing, a cheeky chappy, somebody that fit the bill of a sales executive in London and yes wait for it…. somewhat disorganised – well nobody is perfect. Paul worked on a pilot contract called ‘Women’s level 3 Trial’ that was aimed at supporting women in London to develop their careers; those of you that knew Paul well won’t be surprised to hear he made a success of it.
In December 2007 Paul represented me at Wheelchair Rugby exhibition event with the GB Elite Rugby Team sponsored by WheelPower, a charity based in Stoke Mandeville dedicated to supporting Wheelchair and Paralympic sport. Paul was overwhelmed by the event and seeing what can be achieved against the odds and as result when I wanted to set up a Dragon Boat team to raise funds for WheelPower Paul was quick to volunteer. On 27th April 2008 our ‘Pirate’ team gave their all to race in terrible weather conditions, they didn’t win the race but they did win the award for best dressed team and raised just over £3,000.

Paul left Qube in 2009 to travel and explore the world; he kept in touch with a number of us by telling stories about his travels and the people he met.
When someone passes away people start to reminisce and talk about them but we won’t need to do that. Even though Paul left Qube more than three years ago we still talk about him a lot and even newer team members know of him. Paul has left an imprint on Qube and he won’t be forgotten.
I’m sure his colleagues and customers will join me in sending sincere condolences to his family and friends; our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.
