The Defence School of Healthcare Training at the Defence Medical Services (Whittington)
How did you get to where you are in your career?
I left the Royal Navy after serving 12 years as a Medic. I left as a Petty Officer after being promoted to this position after several jobs within the service. These included roles in Primary and Secondary Healthcare facilities, afloat onboard Her Majesty’s Ships and as a Close Support Medic for the Royal Marines in Afghanistan.
What was the most interesting job you had before this one?
My entire 12 years serving in the Royal Navy! Every day was different…
If you weren’t doing what you would do now as a job – what would you do?
I probably would’ve persued the teaching role or a similar role in the education sector.
How do you spend your time outside of Qube?
Mainly spent with my partner, 15-month old son and pet dog doing various activities which usually involve the outside!
Tell us one thing we didn’t know about you?
I am a Media Volunteer for the Miscarriage Association and would like to continue to raise awareness of miscarriage and baby loss. I am also a Mental Health First Aid Champion.
