You can train on an Apprenticeship in many industries. Apprenticeships are available in a variety of sectors, such as Care, Retail, Management and more.

There are different levels of Apprenticeship. These can range from foundation all the way to degree level.

You can start an Apprenticeship after your GCSEs. The law states that young people must stay in education until they are 18. Apprenticeships count towards this, making them a fantastic way to stay in education, whilst also getting a head start on your career with actual experience.

They can take between 1 and 4 years to complete. As Apprenticeships aren’t just completed over night and offer a great way to learn whilst also gaining experience, they are seen as a valuable qualification to employers.

Earn whilst learning. Unlike other routes, an Apprenticeship allows you to learn whilst also earning a wage. You’ll also get other benefits, such as paid holidays depending on the employer.

20% off-the-job. You’ll spend 20% of your working week studying theory with your assessor. This ensures you have enough time to dedicate to your Apprenticeship.

You won’t have to pay tuition fees. If you are aged 16-18, your tuition will be paid by the government. If you’re older, the tuition will be paid for via the Employer, either in full or via the government’s Apprenticeship Levy.
