Our Recruitment and education hub fights digital poverty with renowned Retail Trust
Students who embarked on and completed a Qube Learning Traineeship recently received a new laptop each, to encourage their digital knowledge and increase their capabilities at work, while helping to prevent the digital skills shortage across the nation, at Bradford’s Qube Learning Kick Start Centre.
Here at Qube, we are a leading recruitment and training solutions provider, working with people from disadvantaged areas to help encourage them into employment through Traineeships and Apprenticeships across several sectors. Working closely with the Retail Trust, the sector’s charity since 1832 who have been giving Hope, Health and Happiness to all in Retail, we collaboratively presented brand-new laptops to inspiring Students last week.
Applying for additional funding for Traineeship Students, the Retail Trust were successful in their bid and wanted to use the money to provide laptops and dongles to those who had been through a Qube Learning Retail Traineeship programme. Retail Trust purchased 40 of the laptops, with 10 presented to Students by one of the company’s retail partners, Dixons Carphone, at our Kick Start Centre on Rawson Place in Bradford.
Qube Learning’s Business Development Director, Adrian Grove, says: ‘We aim to make education accessible to anyone from anywhere and if we can help lessen digital poverty across the nation making it easier for people to succeed, then we will work hard to achieve this. These Students in Bradford and other UK regions have not given up despite challenges and have shown true courage and strength, and we hope that by giving them a new laptop, they can move with the ever-changing digital climate. We form relationships with organisations like leading UK youth group Youth Employment UK, with the aim to put youth into work imminently, as we see unemployment among 16-24-year-olds soar. It is our mission to combat this rapid decline and centres like Kick Start and strong partnerships only aid the recovery for out of work people. The Kick Start Centre is there to install self-worth while looking at ways people can train and get into employment. Our team will always keep the door open for those looking to try something new, we look to unlock someone’s potential and see their professional and personal lives benefit substantially from it.’
The Kick Start Centre is a place designed to facilitate people who wish to work in a vocational capacity, over the age of 16, with or without traditional qualifications, from anywhere in the city and surrounding areas. The location is a comfortable setting for young individuals to network and find the support they require, whether it be after GCSEs, moving up the ladder, or if they have lost direction or faith in their abilities because of effects of the global pandemic.
Qube Learning is proud to be an OFSTED grade 2 (Good) Recruitment and Training Solutions Provider that works with hundreds of Employers across the country to deliver a range of training and qualifications to a multitude of Students.
