Student Case Study: Harry Quinnin – Four Seasons Health Care

We recently caught up with Adult Care Apprentice, Harry Quinnin, to gather his feedback on how he discovered his Apprenticeship programme opportunity and how it’s going to date.
Harry told Qube: ‘I love being a Carer. Alongside working in the care sector, I help my husband run his small business of being a florist. I heard about the Apprenticeship programme on a poster in my home, so I queried it with my Manager to find out some more information and began the process to start it. I wanted to do the Apprenticeship to further my knowledge within the care sector and to start my pathway towards my future career goals.
‘I would say to anyone considering doing to an Apprenticeship programme, take every opportunity you can and take on the Apprenticeship.’
‘What I enjoy the most about the Apprenticeship is being able to learn new parts of care and being able to use them within my care practice. The skills and knowledge I have learned from the Apprenticeship include how to deal with a safeguarding issue and how to deal with different situations within the work setting. The biggest challenge with my Apprenticeship is from my dyslexia, as it has made it hard to start some essays, but with the help and support of my Tutor and Manager, I have been able to find a way that works for me when completing my essays.
The next steps for me are to do more Apprenticeships and to move into a nursing position or the managerial route within the care sector.’
