Get to know the benefits of Apprenticeships
An Apprenticeship is a programme of learning that allows students the opportunity to gain real job training, while earning and working towards a nationally recognised qualification. It's designed to enhance an individuals level of competency and confidence by developing their practical skills and knowledge.
Understand The Options
49% of parents do not fully understand the options available to young people.
What is in it for the Apprentice?
Apprenticeships are valuable for young people because they provide access to real-world practical learning with up-to-date methods and technologies. For some jobs, for example in hospitality and catering or social media, real-world practical learning is the only way to learn the necessary skills.
How is the programme structured?
Our programmes combine practical, on-the-job learning with formal and theoretical learning. This dual nature means that young people are able to gain a more thorough grasp of the industry they are working in. In addition, further training can be incorporated into the programme, including training to improve English and maths skills.
Progression
After an Apprenticeship, most students are kept on by their employer as they have invested a lot in training them and view them as an asset to the business.
University vs Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are not for those who 'did not get the grades' to go to university. They are a genuine alternative to university for those who want to go straight into work. Many companies want eager young people that are keen to head straight into the world of work.
