Fundraising
The CEO’s vision of fundraising at Qube
Qube’s fundraising is an extension of how we run the business and of our core values that underpin all that we do.
- Enthusiastic about success
- Straightforward and honest
- Committed to each other
- Open to change
Since 2006 we have experienced much growth in the business and as result the Qube team has expanded to circa of 140 people. The Board aim to retain the family values that make Qube a place that people want to work at and be associated with; we adopt a firm but fair approach. Team building is an important part of the business as we are a dispersed workforce and for many people this can be quite isolating. Qube’s fundraising activities bring people together for a common goal that isn’t directly about the work they do; teams work together to raise money for our nominated charity and the achievements bring a huge sense of pride across the whole organisation, all of which make me very proud of the Qube team.
Since 2010 we have supported a range of charities with a structured approach that includes having a Fundraising Committee and several other campaigns prior to this. I take nominations form the team for new charities and the executive team approves the charity of the year. I’m keen to demonstrate our corporate responsibility by supporting charities that have a true meaning to one or more of our colleagues. By doing this we are not only raising funds for good causes, we are demonstrating in very visual way our support for our colleagues at a time in their lives when they most need it. In the main we support national charities, as we are a national organisation and we want to engage all colleagues and their families, suppliers and customers to be a part of our campaigns. We’ve had raffles, auctions, sponsored runs and walks, cake stalls, quiz nights, Qube’s Got Talent, fancy dress competition, auction the executive team as a ‘slave for a day’, stocks and water punishment for the executive and senior managers, the sale of merchandise, coffee mornings and a ‘bring and buy’ stall. The team are keen to be involved and often give up their personal time to do a lot of this. I am forever grateful of the amazing support and I know all those who benefit from the fundraising are too.
In summary we are dedicated to raising money for our nominated charities and in doing so demonstrate support to our colleagues, get teams working together for a common goal and have some fun along the way. It never ceases to amaze me just how generous people are with their time and money, it makes me proud to be a part of the fundraising here at Qube.
As a footnote one easy way Qube adds to the sum raised each year is by making an annual donation in December instead of sending business Christmas cards. It’s not that we don’t to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year, it’s more that we want to make a real difference.
