Louise Carroll - Director of Skills & Development

roles & responsibilities

As Director of Skills and Development, Louise is accountable for our Skills for Life provision and has responsibility for various aspects of quality improvement across the organisation. These include:

• Skills for Life strategy
• Operational management of the Skills for Life department
• Quality assurance and continuous improvement of the Skills for Life provision
• Awarding Body accreditation, compliance and relationship management
• Recruitment, selection and retention of staff and learners within Skills for Life
• Feedback - obtain and evaluate feedback from learners, employers and staff
• Co-ordinate the process and production of the Self Assessment Report (SAR) and the Quality
  Improvement Plan (QIP)
• Monitor of the Quality Cycle
• Co-ordinate all activities relating to Investors in People (IiP) and the Matrix Standard
• Monitoring of the company training plan

• 2:1 BA(hons) Hospitality Management
• Level 3 Certificate in Adult Literacy Subject Support
• Level 3 NVQ in Direct Training and Support
• Level 2 Certificate for Adult Learner Support
• D34 Internal Verifier Award
• D32/D33 Assessor Award
• Level 3 Application of Number Key Skill
• Level 3 Communication Key Skill
• Level 3 ICT Key Skill

previous experience

Louise started her career in the hospitality industry, completing a degree in hospitality management and working predominately in hotels. Louise then started working within the training industry as a Hospitality Assessor for 3 years, before progressing to Hospitality Internal Verifier.

Whilst working for Qube Learning Louise was asked to help start up the provision of Skills for Life which resulted in Louise becoming the Skills for Life Team Manager. Louise was in this role for 3 years, in this time we experienced considerable growth and our reputation in the sector was founded.

Louise has recently been promoted to her current job role as Director of Skills and Development which encompasses overall management responsibility for Skills for Life and quality improvement.
